A small rural town with scattered housing with 133 inhabitants covering 703 ha, Auriolles is located about 20 minutes by car, southwest of Sainte-Foy-la-Grande.
The originality of its small town hall, leaning against the flat apse of the Saint-Pierre church, is to compose with it a single built ensemble, dominated by the silhouette of a bell tower-wall.
It houses a bell from 1782, cast by Poulange and finely decorated, classified as a protected object as a Historic Monument.
A short distance away, the multipurpose room, inaugurated in 2007 and enhanced in 2016 by a superb covered terrace in a pleasant environment, serves in particular as a setting for belote competitions and the local festival with the traditional snail meal organized by the Festival Committee . It is also open to rentals for all family or other meals.
The RD 126, which crosses the most populated area of the village, follows an essentially wine-producing plateau at around 90 meters above sea level. It allows you to discover beautiful landscapes with the town of Pellegrue, 2 kilometers as the crow flies and the castles of Boirac and Puch de Gensac, before diving towards the Durèze valley and offering other points of view. view, towards Listrac-de-Durèze.
The economic activity is essentially agricultural, but Auriolles has a company specializing in sanitation (Eco Vide Environnement) and a craft brewery (HERE WE BREW). Gîtes and second homes welcome tourists who love nature and calm.
Since January 1, 2014, the limits of the commune with Soussac, Cazaugitat and Saint-Ferme constitute the southwest limits of the Community of Communes of Pays Foyen.
