Port Sainte Foy and Ponchapt

The Pampa collective brings together fourteen theater artists from national schools (National Higher Conservatory of Dramatic Art, Higher School of Dramatic Art, National Theater School of Strasbourg). Apart from their lives as actors and directors in major institutions (Festival In d'Avignon, Théâtre de l'Odéon, Théâtre de la Colline, etc.), these artists wanted to invent a form that would resemble the expectations of their generation, a way of doing theater freed from the usual production methods.

Presenting each year for 9 years a Festival in the heart of the Gironde, the Pampa collective is now very established in the region. With more than 3000 spectators in 2020, it is becoming a major player in cultural influence in New Aquitaine. The Pampa collective is supported by the OARA, the DRAC, the Nouvelle Aquitaine region, the department of Gironde, the community of communes of the country foyen, and several of the shows created during the previous editions now have a life on tour. Pampa aims to produce high quality shows for everyone, whether repertory or original. In line with the great decentralization festivals, the collective offers technically simple but ambitious forms in research: the actors are at the heart of the project.

The pampa collective is now co-directed by five of its members: Anthony Boullonnois, Matthieu Dessertine, Loyse Delhomme, Marion Lambert and Florent Hu.

For the first time since the beginning of the Pampa festival, we have chosen to include in our programming a show by a contemporary author in order to contribute to the fight against the invisibilization of women in this environment, a subject always sadly news. Immerse yourself in the diversity of human relationships, take root and lose yourself in the theater as much as in the forest, help preserve both the environment and the heritage of contemporary authors, these are the guidelines for the 2023 edition.
