What is the health pass?
The "health pass" consists of the presentation, digital (via the TousAntiCovid application) or paper, of a health proof, among the following three:
- Vaccination, with presentation of a vaccination pass
- Proof of a negative test of less than 24h for the “activity health pass” for access to the major events concerned and a maximum of 72 hours for the “travel” health control.
- The result of a positive RT-PCR or antigen test attesting to recovery from Covid-19, dating at least 11 days and less than 6 months.
The validity of RT-PCR and antigenic tests for the "sanitary pass" is reduced to 24 hours since November 29, 2021.
Wearing a mask is compulsory indoors in places open to the public, even in places accessible by means of a health pass.
In Gironde, by prefectural decree of November 26, the obligation to wearing of the mask is extended in the most frequented outdoor public spaces, in particular in the city center of Bordeaux and Libourne and in the markets, second-hand shops and open unpacking sales.
Health pass and tourist accommodation
The sanitary pass is not required for customers of hotels, furnished tourist accommodation (Airbnb), lodges and bed and breakfast during the summer of 2021, if they only offer an accommodation offer. However, the health pass must be presented for leisure and catering activities within these same structures, except breakfast.
A customer who does not present a valid sanitary pass in tourist accommodation (whether it is a hotel or a guest house), will be able to sleep there but will not be able to use the bar, the restaurant, the swimming pool, the room. sports, etc.
Campsites are however authorized to request the health pass only once, at the start of the stay. The same is true for tourist residences and holiday villages.
Guest houses are not affected by the health pass, since they only offer an accommodation offer. As for the tables d'hôtes, they are obliged to request the sanitary pass.

Guest rooms with breakfast service must check the sanitary pass. What text can we rely on to confirm this provision with owners who doubt it?
Ministry response : Even if this is not explicit in the text, it seems that Matignon has validated the fact that breakfast in hotels, and therefore in guest rooms, was not subject to the health pass.
Note from Tourism DNA: We are going to check this point again, which remains unclear.
